Make a family packet with Claude

A family packet is a set of names you take to the temple together: each one proved, reserved and printed as a card with their own story on the back. With a paid Claude plan, your own Claude can do the legwork in your own signed-in browser, one ancestor at a time, while you approve every reservation.

What you need

  • A paid Claude plan (Pro or above) with Claude in Chrome, signed in to your own FamilySearch account. Claude never asks for your password.
  • The TempleKit connector, added once: in Claude open Settings, then Connectors, Add custom connector, and paste https://templekit.com/mcp.
  • The free TempleKit skill, so Claude knows the whole flow (optional, but it helps).
  1. 1

    Claude proves each link

For each person it opens their FamilySearch page, checks that a historical record shows who they are, looks for duplicates and uses View Relationship to confirm how they connect to you.

  2. 2

    It reads their family

Birth, every marriage, every child, death and burial, both parents, and FamilySearch’s own words for how you’re related, with the shared ancestor and the grandparent’s line it runs through.

  3. 3

It writes the back from their records

A short opening line, then their life: birth and parents, marriage with both ages, every child by name, and death with age. Nothing is invented; what the records don’t say is left out.

  4. 4

    History from where they lived

TempleKit suggests dated events from their own town first, then the district and province, then the country. No event repeats within your packet, and a life with few dates gets more history.

  5. 5

    How to say each name

Every name word gets a pronunciation for the reader where one helps.

  6. 6

    You approve each batch

Claude shows up to 10 ready names at a time with the evidence. It reserves only the ordinances you choose, and only after your yes.

  7. 7

    It makes the cards

Claude prints the batch’s family name cards from FamilySearch to a PDF, you upload it with the link it gives, and TempleKit makes one two-sided file: fronts with the relationship and a table of their life events, backs with the story, the history dots and a map, each card in a roomy cut box on plain paper.

  8. 8

    Every QR code is checked

TempleKit refuses a file if any card’s QR code would scan differently, and Claude checks the finished file once more before it gives you the download link.

And as many of the spirits as were in prison came forth, and stood on the right hand of God; and the remainder were reserved in chains of darkness until the judgment of the great day.

Questions

Is there a way without a paid plan?

Yes. Make the cards yourself at templekit.com/app; the step-by-step guide needs no AI at all.

Is it allowed on FamilySearch?

Claude works the way you would: one person at a time, at a normal pace, in your own account, and changes nothing without your OK. It never bulk downloads or scrapes.

Does TempleKit sign in to FamilySearch?

No. Only your own Claude does, in your own browser. TempleKit only ever sees the card PDF you upload, keeps it for at most an hour, and reserves nothing.

Can the story be wrong?

The backs use only what your records say. Read each one before printing; you can change any word.
