Questions

Are these sites free?

Most are. Each one is labelled: Free, Free account (sign up at no cost), Pay per view, or Subscription. Ancestry is free to use at FamilySearch centers and many public libraries.

Does TempleKit search these sites for me?

No. We only open the site in a new tab, with your search filled in where that site's links allow it. You do the searching, on their site, under their terms.

My ancestor's country isn't listed. Where do I look?

Start with the FamilySearch Research Wiki: it has a page for nearly every country, state and county, listing which records exist and where they are.
