Opening your tree…
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Questions
What's the difference between a pedigree chart and a family group sheet?
A pedigree chart follows only your direct ancestors: parents, grandparents and so on. A family group sheet shows one couple and all of their children. Blank versions of both are on our printable charts page.
Who goes on top, the father or the mother?
By convention the father is above and the mother below in each pair, and the numbering doubles each generation (father = 2 × child, mother = 2 × child + 1). That's called Ahnentafel numbering.
